29 weeks, 2 days

That pesky Father Time is still hard at it, it seems, and we're another week closer to delivery day. All is still well with us! We had a productive weekend and got the nursery painted (*finally*), and the crib put together (pics posted below). Everything is falling into place it seems. Just a few odds and ends are needed to tie everything together, but I'll wait until it's finally finished to post more pictures.

Baby boy doesn't seem to kick as much anymore - he's turned those into full body movements. He's a roly poly in there and likes to freak out at about 3 am. He of course stops immediately when Joey tries to feel his movement, and then Joey looks at me like it's all in my head. :)

Not much else is new. Winter arrived yesterday - after a high of 58 on Saturday, we were at 4 most of the day yesterday, with a windchill of -15ish below zero. Today I think we're supposed to hit 9, but we're currently at -1 with a windchill of -25. Brrr. I love winter, but can't I have a bit of snow?? Tomorrow I think, maybe.

Hope all is well with you. Here are a few development notes:

Your baby is growing rapidly now. This week he weighs about 2 1/2 pounds (like a butternut squash) and is a tad over 15 inches long from head to heel. His muscles and lungs are continuing to mature, and his head is getting bigger to accommodate his growing brain — which is busy developing billions of neurons. Every day, about 200 milligrams of calcium is deposited in your baby's skeleton, which is now hardening. With this rapid growth, it's no surprise that your baby's nutritional needs reach their peak during this trimester.
